Look, my expectations were already pretty high. This has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year since I saw the first trailer and then avoided the rest to spoil it. But even so, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but this might be the best animated feature in DreamWorks history. Seriously, seeing is believing. This is seriously one of the most beautiful looking animated films ever made. Simply stunning from start to finish, full of magic and unparalleled beauty that fills the screen with color and life. It’s really like a Studio Ghibli animation based on Monet’s paintings, and sometimes it’s even hard to process everything they show. It’s certainly the most effective piece of animation I’ve seen since the first Spider-Man. and the evolution of what the studio did with "The Bad Guys" and "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", and if you hesitate, it’s even better than all of them. I can only imagine what such beauty would be like on an IMAX screen and maybe even in 3D, and I’ll definitely be looking for that experience when it’s officially released, but even in a regular XD cinema, it was a great sight. Every frame takes my breath away. The story itself is pretty simple in concept and gist, and if there’s anything that could lead some people to criticize the film, it would probably be this. But I don’t see why anyone would do that, because he does everything he wants in an excellent and irresistible way. I think people forget that even simple narratives like this take a lot of effort to make them work, and this movie looks effortless because it doesn’t even have to do much and you’ll instantly like it. It’s an extremely moving journey from start to finish, full of very beautiful themes and engaging and lovable characters that are worth remembering. The pacing is relaxed and knows how to take its time with the necessary patience, the action is measured but electrifying when it happens and the emotional moments hit hard but never with forced appeal, but because they deserve it with everything they do' triumphantly I built it. The humor and melodrama are in just the right balance, although it focuses more on the dramatic side, but this is one of those that warms the heart in a very atmospheric and touching way.
